#Erwin James
It is with deep sadness that we have learnt that our dear friend Erwin James died suddenly last month.
Erwin was a good friend to Jimmy. Erwin, a former editor of Inside Time was especially supportive of Jimmy’s writing – publishing several of Jimmy’s articles in this prison newspaper.
However, their journey started back in 2010 when Erwin, a former Guardian Columnist wrote ‘Erwin James: Why are so many former soldiers in Prison? This provided a raw and gritty insight into Jimmy Johnson’s story from model solider to model prisoner.
From everyone at #TeamJimmy – Erwin will be sadly missed and ‘your writing will never fade’.
#United Nations and The Veterans’ Survival Guide
We are delighted to announce Jimmy’s friend Michael O’Brien has sent copies of The Veterans’ Survival Guide to the Secretary General at the United Nations. This is an incredible opportunity, and we hope The Guide will be a help the UN in their work.
Michael’s incredible personal story includes a wrongful conviction and 12 years imprisonment before proving he was innocent. During that time, Michael got to know Jimmy, and it was Jimmy that told Michael he was suffering PTSD! To find out more here is a link to Michael’s story:
